The amazing Van Schie family camp on Raquette Lake in New York’s Adirondack Mountains is completely off the grid and accessible only by boat. Adrian and Alexandra wanted a place outside of New York city where their kids Huck and Tana could run free. The land was bought 40 years ago by Alexandra’s dad and wasn’t really used until Adrian and Alexandra married and decided to build a place there. Adrian, an ex corporate lawyer learnt wood frame construction basics and designed and built the house in components which were barged in. Published in Adirondack Life magazine.
